Ceremony Mushrooms

When we met the founders of Ceremony Mushrooms, they had a clear vision for their adaptogen tincture brand and were looking for the right partner to bring it to life. Adaptogens and mushrooms in general were new to us, and they quickly downloaded our team on the many health and wellness benefits of these functional fungi. The Ceremony team knew this was a fairly new category in the market, and that education was going to be a key component in building trust with their target consumer.

The goal was to create an informative brand identity that felt authentic and unique in a saturated market of cookie-cutter ‘disruptor’ brands. Luckily, these experts had no shortage of information and inspiration to share that through collaboration—created a meaningful identity for Ceremony Mushrooms.

Art Direction:

The mushroom kingdom provided much inspiration for this project, and it was clear from the beginning that in order to create an identity that felt authentic we needed to go back to the root ingredients of the product. This meant going back to nature, from where we pulled earthy colour palettes and organic graphic forms. As tinctures are historically held in apothecary bottles, we chose a modern apothecary style type treatment for the Ceremony Mushrooms brand identity. The art direction for Ceremony Mushrooms balances clean, naturally lit product photography with bold prism-inspired graphics.

This in effect, speaks to the wonder of these creatures, as well as the clinical and medicinal properties of the final product. Small details, like the wood-grain base of the packaging, or typographic patterned interior, act as narrative enhancers, reminding the consumer of the natural origin of the ingredients inside.
The result? A market-ready disruptor brand that looks and feels perfectly safe and perfectly timeless.
